Home.Girl.Hood. By Ebony Stewart |#bookreview #netgally #ebonystewart

My thoughts / review:

This is a collection of poetry that is yet powerful but is much needed. Ebony Stewart talked about being a black woman especially an “around the way girl” she spoke about growing up and sex, as well LGBTQ. There was so much the author talked about I felt she was talking to me directly as if we were good friends. Mostly everything I could relate to.

The author spoke from her heart and soul. And I believe as a reader I felt her words. This collection is something I will be re-reading many times over It was that good. Although I feel a lot of black women will understand where the author is coming from and can relate to it the most, just about anyone can read this collection of poetry and get a feel and true understanding of what Ebony Stewart went through and has faced.

Overall I absolutely loved this! *Thank you to Netgally, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read and review this book for my own honest opinion*

Watch “🎂 Birthday Book Haul📚 #bookhaul #romancebooktuber #booktube” on YouTube

I just had my birthday this past February 20th and it’s always a big blessing to see another year and spend it with people I love and care about. But one thing I wanted most out of all my gifts (which I enjoyed just as well) we’re more books. So I did a quick video of a birthday book haul of all the books I got and sharing why I chose them. I’m excited to be getting to them very soon. And having these new books have definitely put me into a big reading mood. Hope you enjoy the video let me know if you are interested in any of the books I mentioned or if you read of these.

You Don’t Even Know Me by Sharon G Flake | #blackauthors #weneeddiversebooks #bipoc

My thoughts/review:

This was a really good collection of short stories. The author wrote 10 different short stories about young black boys and different situations in their lives.

Some stories dealt with girls, living in the hood, dealing with violence, hiv, and sexual abuse. The author brought topics that I believe young boys growing up deal with and have a hard time talking about with older people.

Although this is considered a YA I enjoyed reading this and should be required reading for kids in middle school at least. I always feel Sharon Flake can turn realistic situations and make them more understandable for the reader to not be so judgemental.

As a mother to a 3rd grade boy I want to share this book with him and be able to talk to him about the different subjects that are presented. This I feel can be a great tool for parents.

#BookReview Her Night With Santa by Adriana Herrera

My thoughts (review)

This was my first retelling told in a erotic way. This is about Farnaz coming to stay at her uncle’s friends house for a night. Her uncle is best friends with kris kringle, and he has a daughter …her name is Kristina and she is the new Santa in charge of the toy run. Farnaz uncle had her stay at Kris kringle beach house for a night to get away from a her family during the holidays, over her bad choice to leave her job to sell adult toys.
And this is where Kristina catches Farnaz in the act at her dad’s beach house. Overall this was written well and it’s different than anything I would normally pick up. Andrea Herrera is a new to me author and I’m glad I picked this one up.
I do like the element of the fairytale of a female Santa that element I felt was different a cool.

***This is a female/female erotica so please be aware that there is language and sexual topics being discussed thoughout this novella.**

I enjoyed this novella, 4⭐

I Recently Bought some Books…

So I typically don’t buy too many physical books, or least I haven’t been in the last year or so. But this month I really wanted some new books and wanted to treat myself. I got my books from Target and from Barnes and Nobles. All the books I picked are new to me so I don’t know much about them but still wanted to try them out.

Down below is my recorded book haul video. Check it out and let me know which books I should start next for January.

Thanks for stopping let me know what you think of this recent book haul.

December TBR | Reading Plans

These are the books I picked out to focus on for the month of December. I have a mixture of all kinds of books. Some in which I already started but needed to finish, and some are new to me authors I checked out from the library or from Kindle unlimited. My plan is to read as much as I can this month. Lately I been feeling that reading mojo of wanting to read everything, and I think that’s good but can be overwhelming at times. I plan to pace myself and not force myself to read at that moment when I don’t want to. Pace myself and have fun this month.

Down below is a listing of where you can read the synopsis of each book I decided to read this month.
