#BookReview / #BlogTour Lost Girls of Kato By Quinn Avery @lovebookstours #bookpromotions

Synopsis:

Fans of Hidden Pictures and The Lovely Bones will enjoy this unconventional love story with a harrowing mystery and a bond that transcends timeโ€ฆ

In the year 1986, 12-year-old Jackie Tanner leads a desolate existence alongside a flighty older sister and an absent mother. It isnโ€™t until Jackie meets an older boy on the banks of the river that she understands the value of love and the bonds of friendship. But J.R. is only in southern Minnesota because his father, a police detective, is aiding local authorities in the search for missing girls. After the community goes into lockdown to protect their children, Jackie and J.R. navigate through the highs and lows of their complicated lives as close confidants.

In the year 2018, 32-year-old Sterling Pruitt is inexplicably lured from Los Angeles to a small Midwestern city where her lifelong dreams involving a little girl become even more vividโ€ฆtangible, even. When Sterling learns of the cityโ€™s haunting secrets, she confides in Theo, the handsome yet sullen carpenter hired to renovate her new home. Together, Sterling and Theo will question both their destinies and their grips on reality.

Once Sterling begins to understand the gravity of her dreams, sheโ€™ll do everything in her power to unlock the mystery behind the abductions in 1986. This enchanting, heartfelt, and often agonizing tale of friendship and tragedy reminds us the bonds of true love can etch a permanent place into our hearts.

Review/ my thoughts:

The girls of Kato is a mystery told in two perspectives, Jackie in the year 1987 and sterling in the year 2018. Jackie is very close to her best friend JR and they both care about each other. JR is being abused by his dad. Jackie wants to help get JR away from his dad. One night leaving JR house she never came back home. The town says that she was kidnapped. During this time a lot of kids were being kidnapped and the town enforced a curfew.

In 2018 sterling moves to the town of Kato for a social work position. She meets a man named theo who is there to fix up things around her place.

Sterling finds out about the kids who were once kidnapped in 1987 and she wants to know more about the case. She has a strong passion to getting Jackie and the other girls back home or at least trying to find out what really happened to them.

Sterling ends up finding out a lot with the connection with Theo and the missing girls. A lot of information comes out about the missing girls that finally comes to the surface.

I like that this story was told in two perspectives. It gives the more of a backstory to the present. I do like the character sterling she was persistent with finding answers in the case of the missing girls. I do all like the little romance this story gives as well.

Review/ My thoughts

I found this self help book on marketing and how to publish your first book to be insightful. As a new writer myself I try to take in as much new information about publishing and marketing as I can.

In this book the author shares the two ways to publish traditionally or self published. The author goes over all details of both including pros and cons. Actually not really cons it’s more so about what bests fits you on a personal level. Both paths to publishing are great in my opinion and I’ve been weighing my options on both. I think I have finally chosen the path I want to take with my first book. But reading this gave me more information on the step by step and looking into the work (on both paths of publishing) it takes to get your work out there to other readers.

Reading this also gave me more thoughts on if I just want to publish for people who are close and dear to me or if I want to publish for every reader who is interested in my work and genre.

I learned a lot from this self help book, it’s definitely a book to keep by and take notes on while I’m getting my work started with publishing.

I recommend this to all writers who are thinking about publishing and don’t know where to start and what to know about the work it takes in both traditionally and self published paths.

#BookReview / #BlogTour What She Knew By Dan Clark #AD @lovebookstours #lbtcrew #booktwitter

Synopsis:

He thought he knew everything about his wife… He was wrong!

Tom and Amy Pearce have built a seemingly perfect life – a loving marriage, a beautiful daughter, fulfilling careers, and a comfortable home. They couldn’t ask for more.

So why is Amy hiding something?

When Tom stumbles upon an object he believed was lost in a tragic accident, memories flood back, catapulting him into an emotional whirlwind.

A few days later, Tom observes an encounter between Amy and a mysterious stranger. The subtle shift in her demeanour piques his concern, stirring a deep unease within him. Desperate for answers, he confronts Amy, only to be met with evasiveness and distance.

As Tom delves deeper into the connection between the stranger and the object from the past, he realises he may not truly know his wife at all…

WHAT SHE KNEW – the new suspenseful thriller from the author of I’ll Find You, The Neighbour’s Secret and The Boy in the Well.

Review/ My thoughts

What She Knew is a fast paced thriller about a man, husband and father named Tom. His sister Emma just recently passed away from a house fire. Tom’s wife Amy has been acting strange lately having a strange man visit and hunt her down, taking phone calls at weird times. Being very secretive.

In the end Tom is on a mission to find out why Amy is behaving the way she is and it has a lot to do with his sister’s death.

Overall this was a good story there were moments where I felt I knew where the story was going but it didn’t take away from the story. I enjoyed how fast paced it was. This being the first story I read by this author I think I may check out other books by him.

A WRITER IS A WARRIOR, so Liam harnessed and used his fear to expose the

Federal Service’s subjugation and injustice for the greatest good.

Institutions are not what people think they are. Liam saw the Federal

Service as an intimidating giant, yet he recognized the very thing that made

the giant robust made it vulnerable. Liam knew a powerful institution was

something he could not fight back with only hope and the thought of

fairness. An institution is not even somebody. It is nothing, and one cannot

fight nothing. Liam knew an institution loses its power once it has a human

    face.

Hilda the Widowmaker was the Angeles’ Plantation owner and a highly skilled

institutional assassin. She is a disciple of the Enemy, the fallen angel who

dominates Paradise Lost. Since the beginning of time, the elite has created

a complex system of policies and laws to protect the costly blunders of

management. Outmoded rituals and inappropriate dogma have belittled humanity

    into slaves.

The physical world assaults Liam’s faith. The result is an unusual

perspective of some of the most ossified traditions in the Federal Service

and eye-opening lessons that can be applied when David meets Goliath on the

    battlefield again.

  About the Author

The obstacles in Larry A. Leeโ€™s life opened his heart and mind to

turn silences into words. A dream lived inside of him as a young boy. Wisdom

through struggle and compassion, his self-educated imagination describes the

tragic, comic, absurd, ironic, hopeful, and surreal moments of his life.

Larryโ€˜s book Out of the Field demonstrates how important it is to

dream in oneโ€™s life, and he shows adversity unlocks oneโ€™s real

    strengths and values.

Larry wrote Out of the Field to inspire other lost boys and girls to

envision another life beyond the conditions of their circumstances, so their

futures will not vanish from their mindโ€™s eye. By virtue of

self-reflection, he broke free of the imprisonment of a black and white

world, and the relentless discovery of Self bore the purity of wisdom

through forgiveness. The truth is ugly and uncomfortable, but the future

begins with the right choice. Formidable and in the distance, Larry presses

forward into the unknown, and he hopes others will follow their

    dreams.
